Stowe Family Reunion Date: July 4th –July 6th Theme: Walking by Faith while growing in Love.
Friday afternoon will begin the reunion events. We will have a meet and greet social at The Hilton Executive park hotel. This event will be held at courtyard pool area between 3:00pm until 11:pm. We will have food, music, and great fellowship. You can swim, dance, eat, or just talk about old times. There will be a separate area provided for socializing for anyone that chooses not to be in the pool area. In conjunction with the meet and greet, we will also conduct registration for the reunion. Registration will consist of every member signing in and updating his or her address. We had close to sixty letters returned for bad addresses. This is a waste of time and money. After signing in we will pass out reunion tee shirts. Everyone that registers will get a tee shirt. It is a part of the reunion package. Also there will be sign up sheets for various activities planned on Saturday. We have the areas reserved until 11:00 pm, but the pool will close at 10:00pm.
Saturday events will differ slightly from what we have done in the past. The free for all day will allow family members the opportunity to get to know each other better in various settings. You will have a choice between tours at the African American Cultural Center, Discovery Place, Concord Mills for shopping, movies, bowling, basketball tournament, and seminars on topics like networking, buying house, married couples, computer skills and starting a business. This gives us a chance to interact with each other in a variety of fun settings. We are leaving the choice up to you. The business meeting is scheduled for 4:00 P.M. sharp. Everyone is strongly encouraged to attend. The semiformal banquet will begin right after the meeting. We will sit down to a catered meal by the hotel staff while enjoying the Stowe Family Program. The program will be the highlight of the reunion. There will be a history segment, acknowledgements, presentation or scholarship awards and last, but not least the motivational speaker. We will also take a look at some of our most talented family members through the presentation of their gift and talents. After the banquet, we will have an after party with a D.J and a cash bar for the adults.
Sunday, we will have worship services at Mt. Moriah Church in Belmont NC. The hometown family members will sponsor a potluck dinner after services at Mt. Moraih family life center. Lastly, we will have family prayer and introduction of the elected officers for the reunion of 2005. This will conclude the 2003 Stowe Reunion.
